Calm Mum, Calm Baby, Calm Birth
Learn how to relax yourself, your body and your baby so that you can have a natural, easier, calmer and more comfortable birth.
Yoga is a great way to prepare for your pregnancy and labour. It increases your strength, stamina and gives you the confidence to move through your pregnancy and labour.
Childbirth is a natural process. Just as an athlete would prepare for an event, hypnoBirthing helps women prepare for childbirth. Hypnobirthing empowers women through mindfulness and hypnosis to achieve optimal pregnancy and birthing outcomes.
Having a baby is one of life's greatest gifts. The ability to create, nurture and birth a brand new human being is nothing short of a miracle. Yet, when many women think about the actual process of giving birth, fear of pain (and how to avoid it) is at the forefront of their minds. Many women have come to believe that this is just part of childbirth. Hypnobirthing:The Mongan Method, takes a different, more gentle view - that a mother's and baby's body were made to do this and should work in harmony. Though practiced deep breathing, visualizations and positive affirmations together with prompts from their partners and labor comfort measures, which women and their partners learn through a series of classes, mothers can train their brain to elicit a deep relaxation response on demand.
Instead of feeling pain, HypnoBirthing mothers often describe the birth experience as feeling pressure and use the word "surges" or "waves" instead of contractions. At the core of it, it's mind over matter, and thousands of women have proven it works.
No matter what the circumstances, hypnobirthing will help. Maintaining a healthy mind and body and eliminating stress will help you achieve the normal pregnancy and birth that you desire. Learning hypnosis techniques will help you and your baby keep calm throughout pregnancy and during labour. Mothers are more confident, more in control and less fearful and anxious before and during the birth. They also report high rates of satisfaction with their birthing partner’s level of participation, more energy and feeling very calm both during and after giving birth. They experience shorter stages of labour, dramatically reduced need for medical interventions, higher rates of breastfeeding and stronger bonding after birth.
Hypnobirthing is not only about producing babies. It creates strong, confident mothers, who learn instinctively to trust their own innate wisdom and the ability to achieve a healthy pregnancy and birth. Read more.
“After the hypnobirthing course I actually looked forward to the labor with a positive and energetic manner. I couldn’t wait to try out hypnobirthing for real. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it without any medical intervention. Hypnobirthing created a new sense of confidence and a totally different outlook on my ability to give birth in a calm and peaceful way". Niamh
Knowing what was happening and visualizing where the baby was at different stages during birth was a huge advantage. We had a completely natural and pain and drug-free birth. Our baby fed within fifteen minutes having no side effects from drugs. Thanks to Brenda we brought a beautiful baby girl into the world without any pain relief and prepared for all eventualities. The Hypnobirthing techniques were absolutely invaluable. Anika
Brenda was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I instantly felt as ease in her company. Brenda was so passionate about hypnobirthing it was impossible not to feel excited and positive about my body's strength and ability to birth my baby. With the tools Brenda had taught me, I was able to concentrate on the now and take each surge one by one. My third child was brought into a calm and peaceful environment and to this day has a placid and content personality. Gillian
